Our Splash-Proof Cushions Covers
Our managing director, Lee, demonstrates how to deal with spilled drinks on seat cushions in our latest video.
Our splash-proof seat and back cushion covers on our garden furniture sets have been specifically designed to be resilient to the elements found outdoors. Originally designed for boats we use a marine fabric, which is UV & mold-resistant. We have cleverly designed the furniture cushions to have side zips meaning if one side does become stained you can simply turn the cushion over and fulfill the same look, without a zip visible across the middle. They are also resistant to those accidental drink spillages that can easily happen when you are, for example, having a family BBQ.
How to deal with drinks spilled on your splash-proof cushions
Note: If you have one of our Sunbrella sets, never machine wash the cushions.
If you do spill liquid onto your seat cushions don’t rub it with a cloth but instead immediately pick up the cushions and repeatedly hit the other side of the cushion firmly to knock the liquid droplets off. If you don’t manage to remove the spillage in time, don’t worry, the covers can easily be taken off the cushion to be washed. At this point we’d recommend some caution because the fabric isn’t designed to be machine washed at high temperature. Instead wash the covers on a delicate or 30 degree wash cycle with a small amount of mild detergent. This should be enough to getting your cushion covers looking as good as new.
